Mindful Yoga for Mental Wellbeing®

If you are someone who is interested in slow, mindful yoga which directly benefits the neurobiology of the brain, builds emotional resilience to stress, promotes calm within the central nervous system and is proven to support good mental wellbeing for a range of mental health symptoms, this yoga is for you!

The good news is research shows that yoga can increase our resilience to symptoms such as stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue or insomnia, panic attacks and addictive behaviours by increasing trait mindfulness. Yoga and meditation when carefully taught can enrich the lives of people living with some of the more complex illnesses such as PTSD, Mood Disorders and even Schizophrenia.

Mindful Yoga for Mental Wellbeing ® is an evidence-based yoga practice which combines the ancient yogic practices of yogic breathing, yoga asana postures, Buddhist mindfulness and meditation and the very best of current practices for mental heath and wellbeing.

After a ton of research I unearthed the scientific evidence that slower practices benefit your health in a different way than hot, fast, fitness yoga. Slow Mindful Yoga helps reduce chronic pain, alleviate depression and anxiety, manage weight, reduce inflammation, reduce fatigue and more.

The Mindful Yoga Community is a healing environment in which I work very diligently to support participants to feel safe, secure and empowered. The way in which we approach yoga and the affects we are looking for may be quite different from an athletic yoga class where the achievement of certain postures is all important. WE ARE DIFFERENT! You will learn slow mindful yoga practices which will help you to better manage your daily mental health symptoms, and to balance vital energy.

Wild Mind Ebook~  is a combination of direct experience of teaching yoga to students who are living with mental health issues, as well as personal experience of postures that have helped for me before, during and after a period of mental illness. I’ve done my best to support these experiences with research, self-reflection and with a lot of love. I hope this manual will help clarify how and why yoga can improve mental health outcomes for everyone who practices yoga.

Yoga can help you manage day to day symptoms, whether its panic attacks, insomnia, lethargy, depression, mood swings or running thoughts. Yoga can be broken down into manageable parts and sequenced for specific mental health outcomes. Yoga can be altered for ability with the use of yoga props, and offered at different levels of instruction. Yoga is an incredible gift, a friend on dark days and helpful tool which is so practical and beneficial to use.
